Agnes Watson, beloved wife of the late Bruce Watson of Calgary, passed away at the Dulcina Hospice at St. Marguerite Manor on January 24, 2017 at the age of 102 years.
Agnes is survived by her brother Gordon Thomson, her son Brian Watson, daughter-in-law Bonnie Watson, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Agnes will be remembered by many family, friends and the Calgary Curling Club ladies. She was predeceased by her parents, husband and son Bruce.
Born in Calgary, Agnes has lived here her entire life; she enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking, outdoor speed skating, golf and curling. She loved watching CFL football, and was a die-hard Calgary Stampeders fan and season ticket holder since 1948.
An open house will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. at LEYDEN’S Elbow Valley Reception Centre (corner of 17th Avenue & 2nd Street SW), with a celebration of Agnes’ life at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations in Agnes’ memory may be made to the Calgary Curling Club Junior Women’s Program (www.calgarycurlingclub.com Tel: 403-283-8381).
