Douglas Forsyth

FORSYTH, Douglas Brayfield
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of our much loved Doug on Friday, June 6, 2014. Doug will be deeply missed by his caring wife Janet; his children, Andrew and Natalie, his pride and joy whom he loved more than life itself; and the family pet, his beloved dog Annie. Doug will also be missed by his loving parents, Gregory and Nan; his sister Jane (Greg) and their children, Michelle (Brandon) and Stephen; Janet's mother Yvonne Morin; and siblings, Korey (Ian), Kevin (Bonnie) and Joy (Dean); as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Doug was a popular uncle, friend and co-worker. Everyone loved and respected his quick wit, his ease of conversation, and his curiosity and love of learning, which he has instilled in his children. Doug loved all sports, participating in many, and also took great joy in watching his children in many varied activities. He was a proud, native Calgarian, attending Henry Wise Wood High School. Doug was a graduate of the University of Lethbridge. Very active in community affairs, Doug was a long-time volunteer with the Calgary Stampede. He was a member of the Calgary Golf and Country Club and the Glencoe Club. He worked for many years at Pattison Outdoor Advertising where he had a long and distinguished career. Honouring Doug's request, a Private Family Celebration of his life will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doug's name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT & Nunavut, 100, 119 - 14 Street NW, Calgary, Ab T2N 1Z6, Tel: 403 264 5549, www.heartandstroke.ab.ca or to the Calgary Humane Society, 4455 110 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2T7, Tel: 403-205-4455, www.calgaryhumane.ca .
