Elaine was preceded in death by her late husband, Curt Ryder-Cook, who died recently, on March 16, 2015, as well as her brother Stuart Baillie, and sister Gertrude Lawn.

The daughter of Adrian Stuart Baillie and Anne Edith Baillie, Elaine grew up at Copper Mountain, B.C., went to school at Crofton House, B.C. and studied briefly at University of British Columbia before marrying Curt. They lived in Bermuda, Vancouver, B.C., San Francisco, CA, New York City, Hong Kong, Manila, and Vancouver again before settling in Calgary in 1977 where she lived until her death.

After raising her children, she returned to school at Antioch College obtaining a degree in Psychology. Elaine practiced as a Psychotherapist for the last 25 years of her life, working up until 3 weeks before she died. Her patients greatly appreciated her help. During her life Elaine enjoyed sculpture, taught yoga, and she and Curt enjoyed hiking in Kananaskis Provincial Park whenever they could. A loving mother, a devoted wife, and a skilled healer, she will be sorely missed by all those who have known her during her long and happy life.

The family will have a private ceremony for Elaine.
