Fedor Tkaczuk, beloved husband of Anna for over 65 years, passed away at Bow View Manor on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the age of 92 years.
Fedor was also the dear father of Michael Tkaczuk and Maria (Joseph) DeGagné; as well as dearly beloved grandfather to Alexander Tkaczuk, and André and Christine DeGagné, all of Calgary. He will also be remembered by his niece Helen of the Ukraine. Fedor was predeceased by his sister Wasylena and his nephew Ivan Tkaczuk.
Born in Zurawlyne, Walyn, Ukraine, Fedor immigrated to Thunder Bay, ON in 1948, moving to Calgary in 1949 and has resided in Calgary ever since. He was employed with the CPR Maintenance of Way Department for 19 years, and then with the Maintenance Department at Foothills Medical Centre until his retirement in 1987.
Fedor was a member and former Elder of St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church and St. Vladimir’s Golden Age Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers to be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at LEYDEN’S CHAPEL OF REMEMBRANCE (corner of 17th Avenue & 2nd Street SW) at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church (404 Meredith Rd NE) on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
