Fred Potorocza

February 1, 1961 - April 11, 2014

Born and raised in Calgary, Fred knew at an early age that he wanted to be an electrician and later went on to become a Master Electrician. Very skilled with his hands he could build and fix just about anything he put his mind to. A lover of the outdoors, Fred enjoyed dirt biking, camping, and hunting, but his passion was fishing. He would fish day or night, rain or shine, warm or freezing cold. He was a hardworking man, but when it was time to play, the sign on the door said “Gone Fishing”.

Fred’s greatest accomplishments are his children of whom he leaves behind along with his wife, many nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a very special uncle, and a loyal friend. Only 53 years old, he was taken from us well before his time. He will forever be missed, loved, and remembered by all of us that knew and loved him.

A special thank you to the staff and support staff on Units 112/111 at the Foothills Medical Centre for caring for Fred during his short but hard fought battle.

Memorial Prayers will be held at All Saints Russian Orthodox Church (905 - 8 Ave NE) on Wednesday April 16, 2014 at 6pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday April 17, 2014 at 10am at same location, with interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation in Fred’s Honour.

We love you Fred…..until we meet again.
