<div itemprop="description">SYTSEMA, Helen (Heilkje) (nee van der Wal)<br />August 8, 1931- September 10, 2015<br /><br />On Thursday, September 10, 2015 our beloved mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 84. <br /><br />Helen is survived by her sons John, Andy (Robin) and Gary; three grandchildren Deanne (Sal), Stephanie and Emma; four great-grandchildren Eve, Travis, Ava and Camille and numerous other family members in Canada and the Netherlands. She was predeceased by her husband Harry (Harmen), her daughter Jenny and son-in-law Jeff Desrochers. <br /><br />Born in Huizum, The Netherlands, Helen immigrated to Canada in 1958, settling in Calgary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Helen&rsquo;s favourite pastimes were camping, gardening and reading. <br /><br />A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Emmanuel Christian Reformed Church (3020 - 51 St SW) at 11:00 a.m. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting leydens.com .<br /><br /></div>
