Karen is survived by her brother Art (Bernice) and many nieces and nephews. Karen was predeceased by her parents Horace and Lil Betteridge, brothers Pat and Bryan Betteridge, sisters-in-law Aline Betteridge and Donelda Cresswell, niece Cindy Laing and great-niece Angela Betteridge.

Karen spent many years in Rouyn Noranda, Quebec and Cambridge, Ontario before moving to the town of Didsbury with her parents in the late 1980’s, where she remained until 2014. Karen had many friends and was sadly missed when she moved away.

She loved to volunteer and received numerous volunteer awards. Karen spent many hours helping in the second hand store as well as Didsbury’s long term care facility. She lived in Olds for a year and a half before moving to a long term care facility to be closer to family. Karen’s love of family, friends and life will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Karen’s long term care worker Mary-Lynne for the countless hours she spent with Karen; the Signal Pointe care facility and the professional, caring staff at the Emergency department as well as Unit 73 at the Rockyview General Hospital.

A picnic will be held in Celebration of Karen’s life on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Nuthatch picnic site in North Glenmore Park, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the humane society in your area as Karen had an undeniable love for animals.
