<div itemprop="description"> <p> PATON, Wilma </p> <p> January 21, 1934 &ndash; October 22, 2012 </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> On Monday, October 22, 2012 Wilma Paton passed away peacefully at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital with her family at her side.&nbsp; </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> Wilma was born at Redland, Alberta on January 21, 1934 during the Great Depression. Wilma and her husband, Dave, resided on the farm in Vulcan area for nineteen years and in January 2012, moved to Claresholm to reside at the Cottonwood Retirement Village. Throughout her seventy-eight years of life she was known for her genuine fun and happy nature.&nbsp; She touched so many lives with her happy-go-lucky nature and her infectious laugh.&nbsp;&nbsp; The child spirit was with Wilma her whole life and she could never have enough stuffed animals around, especially animated ones.&nbsp; Wilma loved all types of music with her favorite artist being Elvis Presley.&nbsp; She enjoyed playing card games, and every day she and her husband, Dave, would sit and play cribbage together.&nbsp; When she lived in Stavely, she volunteered her time as a member of Silver Leaf Rebekah Lodge #99, going through the various chairs up to Noble Grand.&nbsp; </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> Wilma&rsquo;s greatest legacy was her family. She was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She dearly loved her family and found such joy in teaching her grandchild how to dance, play cribbage and other card games, and view life as a &lsquo;glass always more than half full&rsquo;. </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> Wilma is survived by David Paton, her husband of twenty years, and their dog Benji; daughters, Deb (Brian) Nelson, Susie (Jack) Hunt, Wendy (Dave) Newton; grandchildren,&nbsp; Stacia (Mike), Curtis (Angie) Robert, Tanya (Rod), Tyler (Jodie), Chad (Amanda), Amanda (Steve), Rick (Sarah), Brandon (Nicole), Cortney, as well as ten great-grandchildren.&nbsp; She is also survived by her four sisters, Sinida Bateman, Delores (Fred) Payce, Esther Rhodes and Yvonne Chisholm.&nbsp; Wilma was predeceased by her husband Bob Edgerton, her brother Stuart Walbauer and two daughters, Lynn Anderson and Wendy Louise Edgerton.
