Ying Wong Ho
June 20, 1931 - November 10, 2016
With great sadness, the family of Ying Wong Ho announces the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ying is survived by her husband of 70 years Hua, six sons Brian, Darcy (Holly), Victor (Anh), Patrick (Mandy), Loui (Cam) and Mervin (Bonnie), four daughters Boi Ha (Mai Hoang), Mai (Cu Doan), Yen (Khin Truong ) and Phuong (Hung Nguyen), twenty nine grandchildren Frank, Robert, Tommy, Johnny, Richard Ha, Stephanie, Curtis, David, Mathew, Linda, Vianhna , Bella, Emily, Vianhson, Kaitlyn, McKinley, Richard Ho, Sheila, Milgon, Kelly, Ethan, Duc, Viet, Thang, Bang, Trang, Chi, Son, Lam, and eleven great-grandchildren Brandon, Emily, Tyson, Jasmine, MacKenzie, Tran, Dao, Khanh, Hai, Hung and Hien.
Ying immigrated to Canada in 1980 with her husband and her children. She and her family first lived in Kelowna BC, eventually moved to Toronto then Mississauga Ontario and finally settled in Calgary, Alberta.
Ying was always content with her life as a career house wife. She loved cooking, especially old fashioned Chinese food. One of her happiest times was preparing traditional treats every Saturday when many of her children and grand-children come over for ritual weekly gatherings. She considered her sole purpose of life, and her greatest achievement in life, was bringing up her children and setting them to the paths of success.
The family wish to thank the wonderful staff at the Foothills Hospital and Fanning Vernon Care center for their care and compassion during Ying’s last months.
