
NOËL, ADAM BRONISLAW
February 20, 1939 – September 23, 2012
Adam Bronislaw Noël passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the age of 73.
Adam was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia on February 20, 1939 to Bronislaw and Felicja Noël of Poland. In 1945, he and his mother joined Adam’s father in Germany from where they moved to London, UK. In 1961, Adam graduated with a B.Sc. in Geology (Honors) from Durham University, UK, and in 1970 with a D.I.C. and a M.SC in Mining Engineering from the Imperial College and the University of London, UK. He subsequently received a diploma in 1991 in Waste Management from Mount Royal College, Calgary AB. Adam worked as a professional mining engineer with over forty years of Canadian and international experience.
Adam was an avid outdoors enthusiast and loved the mountains. He was a member of various outdoor clubs and held organizational positions as well as making major contributions to the CAOC.
Adam approached everything he undertook with conviction and passion. He had a lifelong pursuit of learning, always seeking new possibilities to create a meaningful life.
Adam was a valued friend, very loved and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his son Krzysztof (Jennifer) Noël; his daughter Jolanta Noël; grandchildren, Adam and Anna Noël; his sister Ewa Trojanowska (Andrzej) and his nephews, Piotr, Jan, and Filip Trojanowski.
Funeral Service will be held at LEYDEN’S CHAPEL OF REMEMBRANCE (corner of 17th Avenue & 2nd Street SW) on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 A.M.
