<div itemprop="description">PISKOLTI, Annie (nee Rodak)<br /><br />September 14, 1930 - Calgary, Alberta<br />March 26, 2016 - Calgary, Alberta<br /><br /><br />It is with sadness at her passing and joy in having her in our lives that we announce that Annie Piskolti (nee Rodak) passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on March 26, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by her husband, Alex Piskolti and her parents, Katarine (nee Onysyk) and John Rodak, Annie is survived by her cousins, Andrew Shemchuk, Virginia Malanowski, Patricia Ragan, numerous other relatives in the United States and six godchildren, Diane Lysak, Judy Todd, Larry Dohey, Susan Kurtz, Linda Hilliar and Larry Polatyllo. <br /><br />Annie began working at the Calgary Public Library as a 16 year old volunteer and worked there until her retirement in 1995. Former Mayor Al Duerr presented Annie with a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Calgary in recognition of 50 years of outstanding service to Calgarians. <br /><br />Annie loved to sing, and sang in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Choir, as well as the Calgary Civic Chorus. Annie loved cats, was an avid gardener, collector of children&rsquo;s books and art. In addition, Annie won many prizes at the Calgary Stampede for her embroidery work. She will be dearly missed by her many friends, made during her 85 years. <br /><br />Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (729 - 6 St. N.E.) at 7:00 p.m. <br /><br />Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary&rsquo;s Cemetery. <br /><br />In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Calgary, www.alzheimersociety.ca or to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church.
