Earl will be remembered for his love of life, integrity, honesty and his ability to be optimistic in spite of challenges that came his way. Earl was predeceased by Sadie, his wife of sixty-five years and is survived by his sons, William (Janice) and David (Lori). Earl was the adoring grandfather to Adam, Paul, Jaclyn (Scott) and Megan; and special uncle to Dale, MaryLou, Linda and Shasta. Also left to remember Earl are special family friends, Justina, Marnie, Barb and Elisabeth. Earl was predeceased by his parents, John (&ldquo;Jack&rdquo;) and Pearl Gray; his sister Evelyn; his brother Douglas; and his grandson Aaron. <br /> <br />Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday October 8, 2014 at WOODCLIFF UNITED CHURCH (5010 Spruce Dr SW) at 12:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Colonel Belcher residence for the excellent care provided to Earl over the past four years, as well as to the staff on Unit 32 at the Foothills Medical Centre and the Sarcee Hospice who cared for Earl in his final hours. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Earl&rsquo;s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5, www.cancer.ca or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 15 Colonel Baker Place, Calgary, AB T2E 4Z3, www.cnib.ca .
