Darlene Henderson passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on March 9, 2017.
She is lovingly remembered by her three children, Jesse (Hannah), Lucas and Sarah (Michael) Reid. Darlene is also survived by two granddaughters, Leighton and Lillian-Olive and two sisters, Tammy (Ron) Romeo and Carla (Frank) Romeo. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Pauline Chimko.
Darlene graduated in 1976 with a nursing degree from the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, and subsequently spent the next 40 years working passionately as a child health advocate. Later in her life Darlene developed a deep love for drumming and dance. She was a very involved member of the dance and drumming communities in Calgary as well as in Gambia which she lovingly called her second home.
A Celebration of Darlene’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at LEYDEN’S CHAPEL OF REMEMBRANCE (corner of 17th Avenue & 2nd Street SW) from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
