<div itemprop="description">HIGHFIELD, Elsbeth<br />May 1, 1914 - April 29, 2016<br /><br /><br />Elsbeth Highfield passed away peacefully on April 29 at Bethany Care Home, two days before her 102nd birthday. Elsbeth is survived by her children; Else (Emil) Klukas, Annemarie Schwarz, Gerhard Rauschenberger (Gladys), Karin (George) Lamont. She will also be missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her eldest son, Ewald Rauschenberger, predeceased her in 1991. <br /><br />Elsbeth was born on May 1, 1914 in Germany and spent her early years in Romania before moving back to Germany in 1940, and eventually immigrating to Canada in 1951. She dedicated her entire life to the Lord's service and was an inspiration to all who knew her. A pastor's wife for most of her life, she first married Rev. Jacob Rauschenberger in 1932, who predeceased her in 1965. She was married to her second husband, Rev. Wilfred Highfield, from 1968 until his death in 2010. <br /><br />Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside interment ceremony at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, (1515 - 100th St. S.E. Calgary, AB). <br /><br />A Celebration of Life will be held the same day at her home church, Thornhill Baptist Church (128 Tache Ave NW, Calgary, AB) at 3:00 P.M. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elsbeth's memory may be made to Thornhill Baptist Church or the Mustard Seed.</div>
