<div itemprop="description">GRIFFITHS, Frank<br />1934 - 2015<br /><br /><br /><br />On Sunday, September 20, 2015, Frank Griffiths, 81 years young, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend sailed peacefully away.<br /><br />Frank is survived by his sister Merle, five children, Debbie (Dave), Kurt (Janet), Sherri (Mike) Richard and Stephen (Yvonne); 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Ian (Sherri), Sunshine (Jonathan), Kaitlyn, Joseph (Cinvera), Tia, Benjamin, Violet (Ken), Melissa (Mike), Zachary and Joshua; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Lavina, sister Jean, and parents Dick and Audrey. <br /><br />Born in Coton-in-the-Clay, Derbyshire, England on February 22, 1934, Frank was the youngest child of Dick and Audrey Griffiths. His family moved to Canada in 1947 to start a new life. Frank had a very active life - a Navy man, father, man of many diverse careers. With his daughter Deb, he married Lavina with her son Kurt, and together had three more children. They were married for 50 years. <br /><br />He was very active in sports, especially baseball and loved fishing in his later years, winning many derbies. Frank will be remembered most by his children and sister for his love of family, no matter what the situation that was to be conquered. His fishing every year on his anniversary was epic. We will miss you Dad. May you conquer all that Heaven has to offer and congratulations on seeing Lavina (Mom) again. <br /><br />Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at LEYDEN&rsquo;S CHAPEL OF REMEMBRANCE (corner of 17th Avenue &amp; 2nd Street SW) at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (17th Avenue SW at Lower Springbank Road). <br /><br />A Celebration of Life/wake/potluck will be held at Lighthouse Church (0 - 9827 Horton Rd SW) from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Please come, enjoy, reminisce and, most of all, Celebrate!
