LEAVENS (KAWECKI), Gail Jacqueline
August 17, 1962 - March 1, 2016

Gail Jacqueline Leavens (nee Kawecki) was born on August 17, 1962 in Dauphin, MB. She passed peacefully at the Salvation Army Agapé Hospice in Calgary on March 1 at the age of 53.

Gail was predeceased by her parents Romuald and Edna Kawecki. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her sister Joan (Camille); nieces Serina (Paul), Michelle (Colin); great-nephews Gabriel and Eli; brother Gregg (Peggy); nephew Jordan (Katherine); niece Chelsea (Mitchell) and brother Keith (Wendy); nephews Jared, Landon (Dan) and Carver.

Gail was the youngest of four children and grew up in Dauphin and Virden, MB as well as Melville, SK. After high school, she spent a year living in New Zealand where she acquired a second set of parents, Peter and Julie Francis, whom she loved dearly. Gail had an extraordinary zest for life. Some of the things she loved the most were sports, work, travel, sharing a fine wine or a good cheese with friends and family. She never met a problem that she could not work through and was always eager to learn and grow intellectually and spiritually.

Despite adversity, Gail's ability to remain positive and share that energy with those around her is something we will all treasure and remember. We will miss her sparkling blue eyes and infectious smile. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 11, 2016 at St. Albert the Great Parish (10 Prestwick Drive SE) at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Agapé Hospice or a charity close to your heart.
